サウスパークのエピソード － 金融システムの実体

スタンが貯蓄の大切さを学ぶために行かされた銀行で、さて１００ドルのお金はどうなったでしょう？サウスパークはアメリカで人気のアニメですが、日本では放送中止になっているそうですね。テーマが時に過激だったり、政治的だったり、PC (Politically Correct) でなかったりするので、お子様には向かないことは確かです。

"Do I really have to do this, Dad?"
"Stan, now more than ever you need to understand the importance of saving money."
"Grandma said I can use this money to buy whatever I want."
"Next, please."
"Go on, Stanley."
"How can I help you, young man?"
"I got a hundred dollar check from my grandma, and my dad said I need to put it in the bank so that I can grow over the years."
"Well that's fantastic, it's a smart decision, young man. We can put that check in a money market mutual fund, and we reinvest the earnings into foreign currency account with compouding interest and.. it's gone!"
"Uh... what?"
"It's gone, all gone."
"What's all gone?"
"Money in your account. It didn't do too well, it's gone."
